Larry Poindexter's Career

Larry Lawrence Poindexter is an American actor, born on December 16, 1959 in Dallas, Texas. He is the son of H.R Poindexter, a well known theater lighting and set designer on Broadway, who won a Tony Award for Best Lighting Design for his activity on Paul Sill's Story Theatre.

Larry Poindexter's first jobs in Hollywood include both acting and production co-ordination with Franklin R. Levy and Catalina Production Group. He is also known for producing several theater pieces in Los Angeles, and also for singing with his band, 'The High Lonesome'. Larry Poindexter's passion for music didn't stop at playing with his band, but also extended to composing music for short films and being the co-author of a rhythm and blues musical called 'Walk Thru Walls'. The first big step in Larry Poindexter's acting career is playing the role of the controversial Dr. Asher Thomas in the ABC soap opera General Hospital. After this, his popularity increased and he starred in other numerous TV series. His most important roles are Justin Moore in Santa Barbara and Ben Welch in Days of Our Lives.
